Experts at Kevils Uranium Cylinder Service Center (UCSC) are in the midst of a shipping campaign!

This shipment consists of 52 14-ton cylinders that contain natural uranium hexafluoride.  UCSC’s radioactive materials license allows the storage of natural uranium hexafluoride.  The 52 cylinders in this campaign have been stored on site for quite some time and the client has now requested delivery of the containers.  The cylinders contain a total 436,978 kgs. collectively.  In order to prepare the shipment, each cylinder must be surveyed to ensure that it can be shipped in accordance with applicable regulations and to ensure that the cylinder is properly labeled for shipment. Our employees affix valve protection devices and tamper indicating devices and then load the cylinder onto transport vehicles.  These 52 cylinders have begun departing UCSC in order to be available for an ocean vessel departure on May 20th. Another turn key project nearly complete by the experts of DAHER-TLI!
